The Belize Butterfly Farm at Chaa Creek is only a short 10 minute hike from the Belize Rainforest Retreat. Established in the 1990s, onsite tour continues to be immensely popular with visitors of all ages and interests. To see the cobalt blue, mesmerizing giant butterflies emerge from their chrysalis stage is an unforgettable sight. It never fails to delight adults and children alike. What looks like a pale green dewdrop changes into a voracious caterpillar before morphing into its pupa stage. One of the world’s most beautiful butterflies then emerges. This is a rare opportunity to see one of nature’s most striking – and beautiful – metamorphosis. Visitors will also be able to appreciate the stunning and unique Owl Butterfly and another specie of Malakite Butterflies.
